Our mission
To bring a piano teacher into every home. Opttonia uses artificial intelligence to guide, listen to and encourage learners, so that learning the piano no longer depends on where you live or what you can afford.
Opttonia was born from a musician's passion and one simple belief: anyone can learn to play, wherever they are.
Founder & CEO of Opttonia
Michel Kodjo is a music teacher, pianist, web developer and entrepreneur. He has devoted his life to playing music, solving problems through technology, and helping people of all backgrounds learn the piano.
To bring a piano teacher into every home. Opttonia uses artificial intelligence to guide, listen to and encourage learners, so that learning the piano no longer depends on where you live or what you can afford.
To help every learner play with confidence: build a musical ear, play with or without sheet music, and keep progressing with as little as 15 minutes of practice a day.
Music has always been at the center of Michel's life. As a pianist and music teacher, he saw the same thing again and again: many people dream of playing the piano, but cannot find a teacher nearby or cannot afford regular lessons.
As a web developer and entrepreneur, he also knew that technology could help. He did not want to build something just for himself. He is a dreamer, and he wanted to bring the chance to learn the piano directly into people's homes.
That is how Opttonia was created: a mobile app powered by artificial intelligence that coaches you, listens to you and watches your hands, whether you have an hour or only 15 minutes a day, and even if you cannot go to a teacher or pay for lessons.
Michel's passion for music, and his desire to help others grow and move toward their own passion, pushed him to create it.
Learning to listen is as important as learning to read. Opttonia helps you develop your musical ear.
Follow scores when you want to, and learn to play freely when you are ready.
Short, regular sessions fit into any schedule. Fifteen minutes a day is enough to move forward.
Every kind of learner is welcome, from complete beginners to people coming back to the piano.
Today, Michel continues to teach music, to show people how to get the most out of Opttonia, and to work as a pianist. Opttonia helps people learn the piano, and it grows every day thanks to the real experience of teaching.
